We have been huge fans of Taylor Fork Sewing Company's products and reached out to them about making us some custom pouches. We have used their "Hilgard" pouches in the past, and are big fans of how light, durable and handy these unique pouches are. The Hilgard Pouch comes in three different sizes, and is excellent at keeping your gear organized. The "small" sized pouch is perfect for keeping track of small items like firemaking gear, carabiners, flashlights, granola bars, spare batteries, etc. The "medium" sized pouch works well as a toiletries bag, carrying water purifying gear, or just a simple place to stash your spare socks and underwear. The "large" size pouch is unique in its dimensions. Its spacious capacity is meant to pack cold/wet weather gear like raincoats, warming layers, etc. It also works great as a "bear bag" to suspend your provisions in a tree. We also love it for keeping muddy boots in on the drive home! Packing for the outdoors is made easy with these pouches, and staying organized on the go even better.
Each pouch is sewn in America by Taylor Fork Sewing Company, a woman-owned business in Spokane, Washington. Each pouch is expertly sewn by hand, and carefully inspected before getting sent out. The owner of Taylor Fork Sewing spends an extensive amount of time in the outdoors and she knows what quality gear matters in the back country!
The Hilgard Pouches are made from 210 denier Ecopak, the world's only durable and waterproof fabric made from recycled polyester fiber and film. Each yard upcycles about 20 plastic water bottles into amazingly durable technical fabric. Featuring a 70D ripstop backing, Ecopak fabric boasts superior strength to many other similar fabrics on the market. Not only is Ecopak good for the environment, it's simply a great, rugged and water resistant material to make gear out of. Each pouch features a 1" strip of loop velcro along the zipper for adhering a name tape or contents label for even easier organization.
Hilgard Pouches are currently available in a matte tan color similar in tone to Flat Dark Earth. We plan to offer additional color choices in the near future.
